How to Request Account Deletion
To delete your Sircle account, follow these steps:
- Open the Sircle app on your device
- Go to your Profile tab
- Tap the Settings icon (gear icon)
- Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision when prompted
Your account deletion will be processed immediately. You will be signed out of the app automatically.
If you are unable to access the app, you may request deletion by emailing us at privacy@sirclesocial.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account.
Data That Is Permanently Deleted
The following data is permanently and irreversibly removed when you delete your account:
- Profile information (display name, username, avatar, bio, interests, location)
- All posts and media you created
- Your reactions and shares on other posts
- Followers and following relationships
- Notification history and preferences
- Push notification tokens
- Direct message conversation memberships and read receipts
- Group chat memberships and read receipts
- AI chat sessions, interactions, and relationship data
- AI-learned facts about you
- Activity metrics and topic exposure data
- Reports you submitted
- Any anonymous identities linked to your account
Data That Is Retained
To maintain the integrity of shared conversations, the following data is preserved but fully anonymized:
- Messages you sent in group chats (displayed as "[Deleted User]")
- Messages you sent in direct conversations (displayed as "[Deleted User]")
- Comments you made on other users' posts (displayed as "[Deleted User]")
This data can no longer be traced back to your identity. Your display name, username, avatar, and all personal identifiers are permanently removed from these records.
Retention Period
Account deletion is processed immediately upon confirmation. There is no waiting period or grace period.
- Personal data is removed within seconds of your request
- Authentication credentials are deleted from our identity provider (Clerk)
- All cached data is invalidated from our servers immediately
- Anonymized shared content (messages, comments) is retained indefinitely to preserve conversation context for other users
Once deleted, your account cannot be recovered. If you wish to use Sircle again, you will need to create a new account.
Third-Party Data
When your account is deleted:
- Your authentication data is removed from Clerk (our identity provider)
- Any cached data in our Redis servers is invalidated immediately
- If you uploaded media (photos, videos), those files are removed from our storage
We do not share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers, so there is no third-party data to recall.
